Since many of my coupons are expiring in the next few days, I went through my stash and gathered several coupons (50 cents or less) of items we use. Once I arrived, I discovered they did not carry a few of the items I needed, so I only got a handful of items.
Purchases included two huge jars of Ragu, one package of Charmin, one jar of Skippy peanut butter, and two packages of Knorr rice sides. The store was already having a special on the Ragu. So, the total was $15.67, and after the store special and coupons, I paid $7.97 for these items!
Unfortunately, this is the only store in our area that doubles coupons. While double couponing is great in theory, it wasn't completely effective for me this week since the store's selection was somewhat limited. But, I will continue to try different methods until I find what works best for me!
In our area, kroger and tom thumb ALWAYS triple coupons up to $.39 and always double ones from $.40-$.50 ... u might wanna check on that. I save a fortune by combining sale items with coupons.
