When my toddler wakes up from her naps, sometimes I like to have a little activity waiting for her! While she is calm and rested, she will sit and play quietly--which is a nice break for mom!
Muffin tins and colored pom-poms are so versatile. I placed them on a blanket on the floor along with an extra bowl and some kitchen tongs. She had never used tongs before, so it was a novel concept for her. It took her several minutes to get the hang of it. It was a great activity for strengthening her hand muscles and working on those fine motor skills! (Both are important parts of toddler development.)
We'll re-visit this one again soon, I'm sure!
Cool idea. My toddler could use more activities, and I could certainly use more breaks.

What a great idea! My son recently high jacked my baking dishes and measuring cups recently. What a creative thing to do with them.
ReplyDeleteSuper idea! My little one loves to pinch me with the tongs (and pretend she's cutting my hair with them). Might have to give her something more creative to do with them!
ReplyDeleteI have a toddler so I'll have to try this and see how she does! The possibilities are endless:-) Found you over on the GFC blog hop. Following you along and would love for you to stop by my little place.
